DRC Hosts Inaugural McCallum Founders Lecture

17 Nov 2017

Inaugural McCallum Founders LectureThe University of Queensland Dermatology Research Centre was proud to host the Inaugural McCallum Founders Lecture in Dermatology held at the Translational Research Institute (TRI) on Tuesday 14 November. This night is very close to the hearts of the McCallum family and a fitting way to celebrate the memory of Professor Norman ‘Norm’ McCallum; the first Queenslander on the board of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

It was an honour to have the Inaugural McCallum Founders Lecture in Dermatology delivered by Professor Ingrid Winship on “Genodermatoses – Where Genomics meets Dermatology”.  Her esteem in the field has recently resulted in her becoming a member of the board of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

The College was also well represented by President Elect, Dr David Francis, who remarked on the importance of the event in this the 50th Anniversary year of its establishment.

It is also important to acknowledge the generous support of Professor Richard McCallum and his family in enabling the lecture. This lecture will continue to honour his father’s legacy as it encourages collaboration in the discipline of Dermatology, for trainees, residents, and staff as well as medical students at the University of Queensland
