Associate Professor Erin McMeniman

Having obtained her undergraduate medical degree in 2003 from The University of Queensland Dr. McMeniman subsequently completed a Master of Public Health at The University of Queensland with a dissertation project in skin diseases in indigenous children. She completed her advanced training in dermatology in Queensland and was awarded a fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatology.
Dr. McMeniman has an ongoing and active role in training and education of medical students and junior doctors and is the Secretary of the Brisbane Hospitals Dermatology Study Group. Working publicly as a Visiting Specialist at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, and visiting Cairns Base Hospital once a month, Dr. McMeniman is currently conducting an audit of the PAH Dermatology Department applications to the special drugs advisory committee. She provides pro bono work in the ‘One disease’ scabies intervention program for the Northern Territory.
Dr. McMeniman has a special interest in skin diseases associated with internal medical illness and pregnancy. Her research interests include public health implications of skin disease and skin cancer, multiple primary melanoma, and hidradenitis suppuritiva. She is currently enrolled in her PhD research program examining the Phenotypic and Genotypic correlations in a cohort of patients with multiple primary melanoma.
