Laura Adams is currently working as a Clinical Research Assistant within the School of Medicine, Dermatology Research Centre at the University of Queensland. Her role is to identify suitable study participants and to perform imaging, mole mapping, skin, hair and eye colour assessment, clinical and dermascopic photography and to contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the Dermatology research projects.
Since 2000, she has been involved in NHRMC and ANZICS Research, Quality Assurance, Implementation and Education of Medical Protocols, Evaluation of Clinical Reasoning Skills of Post Graduate Nurses and The Department of Housing Affordable Housing Project. She has also worked as a Nursing Professional in Dermatology, Oncology, Clinical and Psychiatric settings within Queensland Health (2006-2015). She has studied Psychology and has a Masters of Counselling through the University of the Sunshine Coast. In 2009, she was awarded the International Stevie Award for Women in Business.
Her key interests are Dermatology Research, Mental Health, Quality of life of melanoma patients, Psychology and Counselling.
