UQ featured in children's science program

Children's science program Scope TV featured The University of Queenland Diamantina Institute's Professor H. Peter Soyer and the new VECTRA WB360, located at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

In this epidode Scope TV host, Lee Constable, talks to Professor Soyer about using technology in the early detection of melanoma. 

The Vectra machine allows a detailed 360 degree image of the patient to be captured in minutes. 

Prof Soyer is also able to demonstated the prototype that was in use from 2015 to 2017 at the Centre, compared to the new VECTRA WB360 which has double the amount of cameras. 

This 92 camera version allows a higher level of detail of the surface of the patients skin to be captured, which is then used to track changes in moles over time.

This new machine is currently in use for two trials at the Centre for Research Excellence for the Study of Naevi.
